Over 2,000 Nairobi Women Endorse Broad-Based Government in Powerful Show of Unity and Economic Hope

Leaders from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) on Friday jointly engaged with over 2,000 women drawn from across Nairobi County, in a strong show of support for the Broad-Based Government and its inclusive development agenda.

The women, representing diverse communities and backgrounds, unanimously endorsed the Broad-Based Government, citing its commitment to women’s empowerment, inclusion, and expanded economic opportunities as key pillars of its leadership vision.

Speaking during the meeting, leaders drawn from both ODM and UDA emphasized that the Broad-Based Government is founded on partnership rather than division, and progress rather than partisan politics. They noted that the growing support from women signals confidence in a leadership approach that prioritizes practical solutions to everyday challenges facing Kenyan families.

The engagement brought together several leaders, including Hon. TJ Kajwang, Hon. Jalang’o, Hon. Kiarie, Hon. Mutinda, Hon. Hamida, Hon. Aladwa, Hon. Orero, Hon. Oluoch, and Hon. Elachi, who lauded the women for stepping forward not just as supporters, but as active partners in national development.

The leaders reaffirmed their support for President William Ruto’s development agenda, highlighting key focus areas such as affordable housing, job creation, healthcare reforms, support for small and medium enterprises, and deliberate efforts to open up economic opportunities for women and youth.The women, in turn, expressed readiness to take up leadership and entrepreneurial roles, stating that they are prepared to work with the government to drive inclusive growth at the community and national levels.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continue strengthening women’s participation in governance and the economy, reinforcing the belief that sustainable development can only be achieved when women are fully empowered and included.
