UDA-ODM BROAD-BASED COALITION ADVANCES JOINT MANIFESTO AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTION
Dr. Emmanuel Nzai briefs UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar as coalition outlines its policy priorities under the Usawa Ni Sawa philosophy
The Broad-Based Committee on Manifesto Development, constituted by the Joint Parliamentary Group of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has reported significant progress in drafting a joint coalition manifesto ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Dr. Emmanuel Nzai, Co-Chair of the Broad-Based Manifesto Committee, briefed UDA Secretary General Senator Hassan Omar Hassan on the progress made so far, as the coalition works to define its shared policy commitments and development priorities.
The proposed manifesto builds on the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), with the coalition seeking to consolidate existing achievements, address outstanding challenges and outline its development priorities for the next electoral cycle.
At the centre of the manifesto is the philosophy of “Usawa Ni Sawa,” which the committee says will guide efforts to accelerate national transformation and promote greater prosperity for Kenyans.
The manifesto development process is expected to provide a framework for the coalition’s shared commitments, bringing together its policy priorities and outlining how it intends to address the country’s economic and social challenges.
The committee’s progress comes as political parties and coalitions prepare their agendas ahead of the 2027 polls, when voters will assess competing policy proposals and the implementation records presented by political leaders.
UDA Executive Director Nicodemus Bore also attended the briefing.
As the drafting process continues, attention will turn to the specific commitments contained in the final manifesto, including how the coalition intends to implement its proposals, measure progress and deliver tangible benefits to Kenyans.
