Infotrak Poll: Awareness of Broad-Based Government Hits 79%, But Youth Support Remains Low as Political Parties Battle for Popularity

A new Infotrak opinion poll indicates that public awareness of the Broad-Based Government has reached 79 percent across the country, demonstrating that a majority of Kenyans are familiar with the political arrangement.
However, the survey reveals that awareness is particularly high among young people aged 18–26, but support within this age group remains relatively low. Only 33 percent of respondents said they support the Broad-Based Government, while 37 percent said they oppose it. A further 3 percent indicated that they neither support nor oppose the arrangement.
The poll also highlights the country’s evolving political landscape, showing varying levels of support for major political parties. According to the findings, UDA remains the most popular political party with an approval rating of 87 percent.
ODM, which is currently cooperating with President William Ruto’s administration, recorded 38 percent support, while the Wiper Democratic Movement, led by Kalonzo Musyoka, registered 80 percent support. Other parties, including DCP and Jubilee, also featured in the survey.
The findings suggest that while awareness of the Broad-Based Government is widespread, public opinion remains divided, particularly among younger Kenyans. The poll underscores the continued competition among political parties as the country moves closer to the next electoral cycle.
