COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli has declared that he holds significant political influence in Western Kenya, claiming that he possesses the “key” to the region’s votes.
Speaking about the upcoming Bukhungu 3 meeting scheduled for the 26th, Atwoli said the gathering will bring together himself, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.
According to Atwoli, the meeting aims to discuss the political future of Western Kenya and demonstrate unity among the region’s leaders.
“I hold the key to Western Kenya’s votes. On the 26th, we will hold the Bukhungu 3 meeting with Mudavadi, Wetang’ula and myself, and after that meeting, we will consolidate the Western Region,” Atwoli said.
The remarks have sparked political debate, with observers closely watching whether the meeting will produce a united regional political position ahead of the next General Election.
