President William Ruto has allocated two acres of government land in Upper Hill, Nairobi, valued at approximately KSh1 billion, for the construction of the permanent headquarters of the African Trade & Investment Development Insurance (ATIDI).
The allocation forms part of a broader reorganization of the former Capitol Hill Police Station land, with additional parcels also designated for St. John Ambulance. The government says the move is aimed at strengthening Kenya’s position as a leading regional hub for trade, investment, and financial services.
By providing a permanent home for ATIDI, the administration hopes to reinforce investor confidence, support economic growth, and enhance Nairobi’s standing as a preferred destination for international financial institutions.
The announcement has also drawn public attention due to the high value and strategic location of the land, prompting discussion over the government’s priorities and the long-term economic benefits expected from the project.
