LDP Calls for End to Alleged Abductions and Human Rights Violations The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP

The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of presiding over what it describes as a pattern of abductions, arbitrary arrests, and torture targeting young Kenyans.

In a statement issued through party spokesperson Mr. Tongo Aruwa, the party alleged that some security personnel have been carrying out arrests while dressed in civilian clothing and hooded attire, a practice it said has created fear among citizens.

LDP urged the government to halt what it termed human rights abuses and called on parents, religious leaders, civil society organizations, and the international community to speak out against alleged enforced disappearances and unlawful arrests.

The party also criticized sections of the political class, arguing that many leaders have not done enough to defend the rights of young people. It further claimed that human rights activists have largely been left to pursue justice for affected families.

The government has previously maintained that Kenyan security agencies operate within the law and that any allegations of misconduct should be investigated through the appropriate legal and oversight institutions.

LDP concluded by calling for respect for constitutional rights, adherence to the rule of law, and accountability for any violations committed against Kenyan citizens.
