GOVERNMENT TAKES SERVICES CLOSER TO MWANANCHI AS PS JANE IMBUNYA FLAGS OFF HUDUMA MASHINANI IN KANGEMI
Principal Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Dr. Jane Imbunya, today led the launch of the Huduma Mashinani initiative in Kangemi, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to bringing essential public services closer to citizens ahead of the Africa Public Service Day (APSD) celebrations.
The initiative forms part of the precursor Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities leading up to the Africa Public Service Day celebrations scheduled for 22nd–23rd June 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, Dr. Imbunya emphasized that strong institutions, public service innovation, and digital government remain the foundation of a modern, effective, and progressive public service.
This year’s APSD celebrations will be held under the theme: “Enhancing Public Sector Institutions and Empowering Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships to Achieve Universal Water Availability and Safe Sanitation by 2063.”
Dr. Imbunya noted that the Huduma Mashinani programme reflects the Government’s dedication to citizen-centric service delivery by ensuring that government services are accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of wananchi at the grassroots level.
“Our commitment to citizen-centered public service delivery remains on course. We will continue to progressively improve the quality of government services through innovation, strong institutions, and strategic partnerships as we build trust and support among our citizens,” she said.
The initiative is expected to benefit hundreds of Kangemi residents through easier access to key government services while strengthening public engagement and awareness of government programmes.
As Kenya prepares to host delegates from across Africa for APSD 2026, the Government continues to showcase its commitment to excellence in public service, innovation, and inclusive development aimed at transforming lives and improving service delivery for all citizens.
