Nairobi Grassroots Leaders Unite as UDA and ODM Hold Broad-Based Talks on the City’s Future

Leaders from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) on Friday held a joint grassroots leaders’ meeting in Nairobi City County, marking a significant step in advancing Broad-Based conversations on the capital’s development and governance agenda.

The meeting brought together city grassroots leaders from diverse backgrounds to openly discuss Nairobi’s unique challenges while exploring opportunities that arise from unity of purpose across tribe, gender, age, and religion. As Kenya’s capital and a national thought leader, Nairobi was identified as a key driver of inclusive politics and progressive governance.

During the engagement, leaders unpacked the Broad-Based Government agenda, emphasizing the need for cooperation and shared responsibility in addressing urban challenges such as service delivery, employment, housing, and social inclusion.Speakers from both UDA and ODM underscored that sustainable solutions for Nairobi can only be achieved through inclusive leadership that prioritizes dialogue, mutual respect, and collective action over partisan divisions.

The grassroots leaders welcomed the joint forum, noting that it reflects a new political approach anchored on unity, consultation, and people-centered development. They expressed optimism that continued collaboration between political formations would strengthen social cohesion and accelerate development in the city.
