DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua has renewed his criticism of President William Ruto’s administration, accusing the government of imposing a heavy tax burden on Kenyans while failing to adequately address corruption.

Speaking during his ongoing engagements with Kenyans in the United States, Gachagua said his political camp has a plan to tackle corruption and improve management of public resources. He accused the Ruto administration of allowing corruption to become entrenched in government.

Gachagua has also criticised the government’s taxation policies and previously pledged reforms aimed at creating what he described as a fairer taxation environment, including addressing concerns over double taxation affecting Kenyans in the diaspora.

He has further argued that corruption and poor management of public resources are discouraging investment and limiting economic opportunities.

His latest remarks come as he continues his US diaspora tour ahead of the 2027 General Election, with his Boston engagement following stops in Spokane, Portland, Kansas City and Dallas.
