MOMBASA, KENYA — Day Three of Kenya Beyond Sight brought together content creation, meaningful connections, accessible travel and community empowerment as the team journeyed from Watamu to Mombasa.

The day began with team bonding and content creation, providing an opportunity for members to share ideas, create together and strengthen the relationships that have become an important part of the journey.

The team’s first stop was RUBiS Watamu, where they visited Carrefour and engaged with management while experiencing the KCB Prepaid Carrefour Card in a real-life shopping environment.

The experience provided an opportunity to demonstrate how the card can be used while shopping at Carrefour, highlighting how everyday experiences can help tell the story of a financial product in a practical and relatable way.

From Watamu, the journey continued towards Mombasa, with the team appreciating Accessible Travels Kenya for supporting the Mombasa leg and helping ensure accessibility remained an important part of the experience.

The day took on a deeper meaning at Bombolulu Cultural Centre, where the focus shifted to community, inclusion and corporate social responsibility.

Associated with the Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK), Bombolulu is known for supporting persons with disabilities through skills development, employment and economic empowerment. The centre is also recognised for its handmade crafts, including jewellery, leatherwork, textiles and woodwork, while showcasing Kenya’s rich cultural heritage.

During the visit, the team interacted with persons with disabilities, listened to their experiences and explored the creativity and determination behind the products they produce.

Participants also had an opportunity to physically experience some of the crafts, appreciating the textures, workmanship and processes involved in creating products that eventually reach the market.

The experience captured one of the central messages of Kenya Beyond Sight: that experiencing a place goes beyond simply seeing it. It can involve touching, listening, feeling, learning and connecting with the people behind the story.

Day Three demonstrated how travel can create opportunities for partnerships, community engagement and meaningful conversations.

From the shopping experience in Watamu to the creativity and resilience witnessed in Mombasa, the journey highlighted the importance of inclusion, accessibility and economic empowerment.

As the day came to an end, the team carried with them more than memories. They carried stories of resilience, creativity, partnership and possibility.

Kenya is more than what you see. It is what you experience.

Kenya Beyond Sight. 🇰🇪❤️
