President William Ruto on Friday presided over the 50th General Service Unit (GSU) recruits Pass-Out Parade at the National Police College, Embakasi ‘B’ Campus in Utawala, Nairobi.
The ceremony marked the graduation of a new cohort of GSU officers, representing another step in strengthening Kenya’s national security and policing capacity.
The pass-out parade also marked an important milestone in the country’s efforts to improve the police-to-population ratio by increasing the number of trained officers available to serve communities across the country.
The newly graduated officers are expected to join the National Police Service with the skills and discipline required to undertake their duties in line with their mandate.
The event brought together senior government officials, security leaders, police commanders, families and members of the public to witness the recruits formally transition into service.
President Ruto’s presence at the ceremony underscored the government’s focus on strengthening security institutions, enhancing operational capacity and ensuring that the National Police Service is adequately staffed to respond to the security needs of Kenyans.
The 50th GSU recruits Pass-Out Parade therefore represents both a significant achievement for the graduating officers and a broader milestone in Kenya’s ongoing efforts to build a stronger and more responsive police service.
