NAIROBI, September 2, 2026 — People’s Party of Kenya says MP Ndindi Nyoro is positioning himself to build a broad political alliance ahead of the 2027 General Election, including reaching out to leaders from across the political divide.
Nyoro is quoted as saying that Sifuna, Orengo, Gachagua and Matiang’i are his friends, adding that he would seek their support in his bid to “take Kasongo home” in 2027.
The remarks are likely to fuel fresh debate over the political alliances and realignments that could shape Kenya’s 2027 presidential contest.
According to the People’s Party of Kenya, Nyoro’s message reflects an effort to build bridges beyond traditional political camps and bring influential figures together around a common political cause.
The mention of Edwin Sifuna, James Orengo, Rigathi Gachagua and Fred Matiang’i also signals the possibility of increasingly fluid political relationships as leaders position themselves ahead of the next General Election.
The statement comes at a time when Kenya’s political landscape is witnessing intensified coalition-building, with parties and individual leaders exploring partnerships that could reshape the 2027 race.
“My friends are across the political divide, and I will ask them to support me to take Kasongo home in 2027,” Nyoro is quoted as saying.
The remarks are expected to generate discussion over who “Kasongo” refers to and what role Nyoro envisions for the named leaders in his political strategy.
2027 POLITICS IS ALREADY HEATING UP — AND THE ALLIANCE GAME HAS BEGUN.
