Tyrese Gibson Arrives in Uganda to Champion Coffee Tourism Campaign

KAMPALA, UGANDA — August 26, 2026: American actor and singer Tyrese Gibson has arrived in Kampala for a three-day visit to support the launch of the Explore Uganda Coffee Tourism Campaign, an initiative aimed at showcasing Uganda’s coffee culture, tourism attractions and rich cultural heritage to international audiences.

Gibson, best known for his role in the Fast & Furious film franchise and his music career, including the hit song How You Gonna Act Like That, was invited by the Government of Uganda and private-sector partners involved in the campaign.

The initiative brings together the Uganda Tourism Board, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Africa Coffee Park to promote coffee consumption, coffee culture and tourism experiences across Uganda.

During his visit, Gibson is expected to visit the Source of the Nile, participate in a coffee-tree planting activity, interact with coffee farmers in Western Uganda, meet President Yoweri Museveni, and attend the official campaign launch at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The campaign seeks to position Kampala and Uganda as leading destinations for coffee tourism by connecting visitors with coffee-growing communities, tourism attractions and the country’s cultural heritage.

Gibson’s involvement is expected to give the campaign international visibility and help showcase Uganda’s coffee story to a global audience.
