Ekaterina Handa Takes Legal Mentorship to the Football Pitch, Inspiring Young Coastal Lawyers

Incoming Law Society of Kenya (LSK) representative to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), Ekaterina Handa, has continued to champion mentorship and youth empowerment after being hosted by a team of young lawyers from the Coast.

Handa took the opportunity to interact with the young lawyers, encouraging them to remain focused on their professional journey, build strong networks and prepare themselves for leadership opportunities in the legal profession.

The engagement, held in a football setting, highlighted the importance of creating spaces where young professionals can connect, share experiences and motivate one another beyond the courtroom.

Handa urged the young lawyers to look beyond their present circumstances and remain committed to building a stronger and more inclusive legal profession for future generations.

Her engagement with the young coastal lawyers comes as she prepares to take up her role as the incoming LSK representative to the JSC, with her approach increasingly placing emphasis on mentorship, professional development and meaningful engagement with young advocates.

The young lawyers expressed appreciation for Handa’s decision to spend time with them and encourage them as they pursue their careers.

“The future of the legal profession belongs to the young lawyers coming up today. Mentorship, teamwork and encouragement can make a significant difference in shaping that future,” Handa said.
