KCB Group has launched a new Sustainability Bond Framework aimed at mobilizing long-term financing for projects delivering positive environmental and social impact.

The framework provides the foundation for a KSh300 billion Medium Term Note (MTN) Programme to be implemented over five years, strengthening KCB Group’s capacity to channel capital towards sustainable development initiatives.

The first tranche of the programme is expected to target up to KSh100 billion, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.

The initiative positions KCB Group to expand access to sustainable finance while supporting projects that contribute to environmental resilience, social development and inclusive economic growth.

The Sustainability Bond Framework is expected to provide a structured approach for raising funds through sustainability-linked capital markets instruments and directing proceeds towards eligible projects with measurable environmental and social benefits.

The move underscores the growing role of sustainable finance in supporting Kenya’s development priorities while creating opportunities for investors to participate in projects designed to deliver long-term economic, social and environmental value.

KCB Group’s KSh300 billion sustainability financing programme marks a significant step towards linking capital markets with Kenya’s sustainable development agenda.
