Babu Owino, Orengo Demand Answers at DCI Over Oliver Jaoko as Political Blame Game Escalat

Hon. Babu Owino and Governor James Orengo are currently at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Headquarters in connection with the case involving Oliver Jaoko, whom police have identified as a person of interest.

The two leaders are seeking clarification on the circumstances surrounding Jaoko’s identification and the broader investigations following the recent confrontation involving members of Team Linda Mwananchi.

They have called on the National Police Service to conduct an impartial investigation and ensure that all individuals implicated in the incident are treated equally under the law.

The leaders have also raised allegations that Gladys Wanga and Peter Kaluma may have sponsored individuals involved in attacks against members of Team Linda Mwananchi. These are allegations and have not been established as facts. They have called for any person found to have sponsored or participated in violence to face appropriate legal action.

They further questioned why individuals who were allegedly attacked could face arrest while those accused of carrying out the attacks remain at large.

The leaders are demanding that the Inspector General of Police provide a clear account of the investigations and explain the basis for any arrests or identification of persons of interest.

They emphasized that the matter should be handled through a transparent, impartial and evidence-based investigation, with every individual given due process.
