Esther Pasaris Hails Ruto–Mbadi Tax Relief as Lifeline for Low-Income Earners

Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Pasaris has applauded President William Samoei Ruto and National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi for the decision to exempt income earners below KSh 30,000 from paying income tax, terming the move a major relief for low-income households.Pasaris said the policy shift will directly benefit more than one million Kenyans who have been struggling under the rising cost of living, noting that for low-income earners, every shilling saved makes a meaningful difference.

“This is real relief for hardworking Kenyans. Putting more money back into the pockets of those earning below KSh 30,000 will ease the cost of living and help restore dignity for families who live from payslip to payslip,” she said.

The Nairobi Woman Rep described the tax exemption as a people-centered decision that reflects sensitivity to the economic pressures facing ordinary Kenyans, especially workers at the lower end of the income scale.

She urged continued collaboration between the Executive and the Treasury to implement policies that protect vulnerable citizens, promote fairness in taxation, and support inclusive economic growth.Pasaris reaffirmed her commitment to championing policies that improve livelihoods and ensure that economic reforms translate into tangible benefits for wananchi.
