A swift response by police officers on patrol along Juja Road in Nairobi Region yesterday led to the arrest of four robbery suspects and the recovery of a stolen mobile phone, moments after a member of the public reported being attacked.
The victim alerted the officers that he had been confronted by four men in the Amanna area, one of whom was armed with a firearm. During the robbery, the armed suspect struck him on the head before the group stole from him and fled the scene.
Acting immediately on the report, the officers pursued the suspects and intercepted them in the Gaza area, where all four were arrested. A search conducted during the arrest led to the recovery of the stolen mobile phone and a homemade gun believed to have been used in the commission of the offence.
The suspects were placed in police custody pending arraignment in court.
