DCP Hits Back at Jubilee, Says Party Should Put Its House in Order Before Criticizing Others

The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) has accused the Jubilee Party of double standards following the recent Ol Kalou by-election campaign.
Speaking after the polls, DCP Secretary-General John Methu said Jubilee should first address its own internal challenges before attempting to lecture other political parties. He argued that Jubilee’s role during the by-election contradicted its claims of being an opposition party.
According to Methu, Jubilee actively campaigned against DCP in Ol Kalou, raising questions about the party’s political positioning. He maintained that if Jubilee considers itself part of the opposition, it should act consistently rather than targeting fellow opposition parties while sparing the government.
“We urge Jubilee to put its own house in order before criticizing others. The events witnessed during the Ol Kalou campaign speak for themselves. If they truly belong to the opposition, they should act like one instead of directing their political energy against DCP,” Methu said.
The remarks add to the growing political exchanges among opposition parties as they position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election, with alliances and rivalries increasingly shaping Kenya’s political landscape.
