Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has unveiled an ambitious political roadmap for the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), expressing confidence that the party can secure a dominant position in the 2027 General Election.

Addressing supporters, Gachagua said DCP is targeting at least 130 Members of Parliament, 720 Members of County Assembly (MCAs), 20 Governors, and 20 Senators, insisting that the goals are achievable through unity and sustained grassroots mobilization.
In a strongly worded attack on President William Ruto, whom he referred to as “Kasongo,” Gachagua urged party members to remain united and committed until they defeat the current administration at the ballot.
“As DCP, we must emerge with at least 130 MPs, 720 MCAs, 20 governors and 20 Senators. It is doable, and from now on, we will work together until we defeat Kasongo and his people,” Gachagua declared.
His remarks signal an intensifying political battle ahead of the 2027 elections, with DCP positioning itself as a major challenger to the Kenya Kwanza administration.
