Oburu Odinga Dismisses Ol Kalou By-Election Outcome, Says ODM Focused on Bigger National Agenda

ODM leader Oburu Odinga has downplayed the outcome of the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election, describing it as a “small hiccup” that does not reflect the strength or future of the party.
Speaking while addressing guests in Bondo, Oburu said the by-election result should not be interpreted as a rejection of ODM, insisting that the party remains firmly rooted across the country and is focused on its broader mission of championing democracy, social justice, and inclusive development.
“We are not shaken by small hiccups like the Ol Kalou by-election,” said Oburu Odinga. “Political contests come with victories and setbacks, but our commitment to serving Kenyans and strengthening our party remains unwavering.”
He emphasized that ODM continues to enjoy widespread support and will use every electoral outcome as an opportunity to reorganize, strengthen grassroots structures, and prepare for future contests.
Oburu called on party members and supporters to remain united, avoid internal divisions, and continue mobilizing around the party’s development agenda. He expressed confidence that ODM will emerge stronger in upcoming elections through unity, effective leadership, and sustained engagement with wananchi.
He reaffirmed that the party remains committed to advancing the interests of Kenyans and working with like-minded leaders to promote national unity, economic growth, and good governance.
