Fresh political debate has erupted after Jubilee Party member Morara Kebaso claimed that President William Ruto and Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang know what happened to the KSh 1.5 billion linked to the controversial Ruaraka land compensation, alleging that former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i was made a scapegoat.
Morara stated that the Ruaraka land deal was only one of several issues in which, according to him, responsibility was shifted to Matiang’i while other key figures escaped scrutiny. His remarks have reignited public discussion over one of Kenya’s most debated land compensation cases.
The comments have also fueled political speculation, with critics and supporters questioning Morara’s recent move to the Jubilee Party and whether his political alignment is connected to broader opposition realignments ahead of the 2027 General Election.
