Adopt a Child, Restore Dignity: Ruth Mueni Calls on Kenyans to Support Vulnerable Girls and Build a Compassionate Society
The Founder and CEO of Helps, Dreams and Dignity Foundation, Ruth Mueni, has challenged Kenyans to take collective responsibility for supporting vulnerable children, especially girls, by promoting child sponsorship, donating sanitary towels, and creating opportunities that uplift communities.
Speaking during the launch of the Helps, Dreams and Dignity Foundation, Ruth Mueni urged individuals, organizations, and leaders to invest in the welfare of children and empower young people through compassion and practical support.
“Let us support our communities by adopting a child and standing with vulnerable families. Many girls continue to miss school because they cannot afford sanitary towels. It is time for Kenya to rise and act. Together, we can establish more sanitary pad banks to restore dignity and keep our girls in school,” she said.
Mueni emphasized that the foundation is committed to championing dignity, hope, and opportunity for disadvantaged communities by supporting children, promoting education, and equipping young people with essential life and soft skills.
She noted that soft skills such as respect, integrity, communication, empathy, and leadership are critical in shaping responsible citizens and creating lasting social change.
“We must ask ourselves how we are supporting people to create opportunities for others. Every one of us has a role to play in building stronger communities. Let us be compassionate, well-mannered, and willing to lift those around us,” she added.
The Helps, Dreams and Dignity Foundation aims to inspire hope, empower vulnerable groups, and mobilize communities to work together in addressing poverty, educational barriers, and social challenges through sustainable and people-centered initiatives.
