Absa Bank Partners with Gen Z Connect to Equip Kenya’s Youth with Leadership, Financial and Entrepreneurial Skills
Absa Bank Kenya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gen Z Connect by Executive Connect in a major step toward empowering young Kenyans through leadership development, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness.
The one-year partnership, delivered through Absa’s NextGen platform, will feature monthly engagement sessions connecting young professionals and entrepreneurs with industry leaders and experts.
The programme is designed to equip participants with practical skills in personal leadership, money management, innovation, digital technology, and the future of work.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Absa Bank Kenya’s Director of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Mwihaki Wachira, said the initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to empowering Africa’s next generation of leaders.
She noted that investing in young people is an investment in the country’s future, adding that the partnership will provide youth with the skills, confidence, and financial knowledge needed to become innovators, entrepreneurs, and drivers of economic growth.
Gen Z Connect, which has built a network of more than 300 young professionals and entrepreneurs alongside a growing online community, welcomed the collaboration as a significant opportunity to expand access to mentorship, networking, and leadership opportunities.
Executive Connect patron Byron Osiro said the partnership combines the strengths of both organizations to prepare young people to shape the future of financial services while contributing to sustainable economic development.
The agreement was signed during the Executive Connect Leadership Forum in Nairobi. The initiative will begin with co-branded events in Nairobi before expanding to Kisumu, Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret, and Nyeri, reaching more young people across the country.
