Tharaka University today received the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes, Hon. Geoffrey Ruku, who toured the institution’s exhibition stands and interacted with students, researchers, and university leadership.
The visit was hosted by renowned researcher Dr. Alex Muthengi, who welcomed the Cabinet Secretary and highlighted the university’s commitment to innovation, research, and student-centered development initiatives.
During the tour, CS Ruku expressed admiration for the innovative projects being undertaken by students and faculty members, noting that such initiatives are critical in driving Kenya’s economic transformation and creating opportunities for young people.
The Cabinet Secretary also applauded the ongoing reforms at Tharaka University, describing them as a positive step toward strengthening higher education, enhancing research capacity, and producing graduates equipped to meet the demands of the modern workforce.
Dr. Muthengi emphasized that the university remains dedicated to nurturing innovation, entrepreneurship, and practical skills among students, ensuring that academic knowledge translates into real-world solutions for communities and industries.
