Opposition Takes ‘Meet the People’ Tour to Western Region, Promises New Hope and United Leadership

The United Alternative Government opposition coalition has officially launched its Western Region “Meet the People” tour, a grassroots engagement initiative aimed at listening to residents, understanding their challenges, and outlining a new vision for the region and the country.

Speaking during the tour, opposition leaders said the people of Western Kenya, like many Kenyans across the country, have endured years of unfulfilled promises and political deception that have left many communities struggling with poverty, unemployment, and underdevelopment.

“The people of Kenya, especially our brothers and sisters in Western, have been misled by false promises in exchange for votes, only to be abandoned after elections by political scavengers. We have come here to listen, engage, and chart a new path forward together,” the coalition stated.

The opposition emphasized that the tour is not merely a political campaign but part of a broader effort to develop a comprehensive and people-centered development agenda that addresses the region’s economic, social, and infrastructure needs.

Leaders pledged to remain truthful and accountable in their engagements with wananchi while working towards practical solutions that will uplift livelihoods, create opportunities for young people, empower farmers and traders, and restore confidence in public leadership.

The coalition also reaffirmed its commitment to unity ahead of the next General Election, vowing to rally behind a single presidential candidate capable of offering a credible alternative to the current administration.

“We are determined to unite behind one presidential candidate who will stand up to the current rogue regime and provide the leadership Kenya deserves. Together, we shall emerge victorious and usher in a new era founded on integrity, development, accountability, and genuine service to the people,” the leaders said.

The Western Region tour is expected to cover several counties, providing a platform for direct interaction between opposition leaders and local communities as they seek to build a national movement for change.
