Ruto Begins Landmark Finland State Visit to Deepen Trade, Education and Climate Partnerships

President William Ruto has commenced a two-day State Visit to Finland following an official reception at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki by Finnish President Alexander Stubb and First Lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb.

The visit marks a significant milestone in the growing relations between Kenya and Finland, reaffirming the strong and enduring partnership between the two nations and their shared commitment to advancing mutual development goals.


President Ruto stated that the State Visit provides an opportunity to strengthen cooperation in key sectors including education, climate action, digital innovation, trade, and sustainable development. He noted that enhanced collaboration in these areas will unlock new opportunities for citizens of both countries while fostering economic growth and shared prosperity.

The President emphasized Kenya’s commitment to expanding international partnerships that support innovation, investment, job creation, and environmental sustainability. Discussions during the visit are expected to focus on deepening bilateral ties, promoting trade and investment, advancing climate resilience initiatives, and enhancing technological cooperation.
Kenya and Finland have maintained cordial diplomatic relations over the years, working together on development programmes that promote education, renewable energy, governance, and sustainable economic growth.

The two-day State Visit is expected to further strengthen the friendship between the two countries and pave the way for new agreements and collaborations that will benefit both nations.
