ODM Invites Governor Orengo for High-Level Talks in Kisumu After Consultations with Luo Elders

By News Desk

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has extended an official invitation to Siaya Governor James Orengo for a consultative meeting set to take place in Kisumu, following a series of engagements with Luo elders aimed at strengthening internal cohesion and regional political dialogue.

According to party insiders, the decision to invite Governor Orengo comes after what has been described as “extensive and constructive consultations” between ODM leadership and representatives of the Luo Council of Elders, who have been pushing for unity, reconciliation, and a coordinated political strategy within the broader ODM support base in the Lake Region.

The meeting, expected to bring together senior party officials, will focus on matters of party unity, leadership coordination, and the evolving political landscape ahead of future national engagements. Sources indicate that the discussions are also likely to address emerging differences within local leadership structures and reinforce ODM’s grassroots mobilization framework.

ODM, led by party leader Raila Odinga, has in recent weeks intensified internal consultations across key regions, with Kisumu emerging as a central hub for strategic dialogue.

Further details regarding the agenda and exact date of the meeting are expected to be communicated after final confirmations from all invited parties.
