Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja today chaired the inaugural meeting of the State–County Implementation Committee at City Hall, signaling a bold new partnership between the Nairobi City County Government and the National Government.
The meeting brought together Principal Secretaries and representatives from national ministries and agencies to operationalize a cooperative framework aimed at transforming Nairobi’s infrastructure and public services.
During the session, the committee resolved to:
Hold weekly Monday meetings at City Hall to ensure consistent progress tracking.
Establish sector-based subcommittees to align budgets, monitor projects, and fast-track key developments.
Governor Sakaja emphasized that the partnership is designed to address Nairobi’s long-standing challenges, including street lighting, drainage works, road construction, and waste management.
“This coordinated effort will bring national and county institutions together to finally accelerate service delivery and transform our city,” he said.
