Youth Take Center Stage at People Dialogue Festival, Call for Inclusive National Conversations
The People Dialogue Festival has once again brought together hundreds of young people from across Kenya, alongside representatives from various political parties, civil society groups, and community leaders, in a bold and candid conversation about the future of the nation.
Held at the iconic Uhuru Park in Nairobi, the festival provided a dynamic platform for youth voices to be heard on critical issues affecting the country, including governance, accountability, unemployment, political inclusion, and social justice.
Young participants from counties across Kenya emphasized the need for meaningful engagement beyond election periods. They challenged political leaders to prioritize youth empowerment, job creation, and transparent governance.
“We are not just voters; we are stakeholders in this country’s future,” said one youth representative during a plenary session. “The conversations we are having here must translate into action.”
Representatives from different political parties welcomed the dialogue, acknowledging that the youth demographic remains a powerful force in shaping Kenya’s political and economic trajectory. They pledged to strengthen collaboration with young people and create structured platforms for continued engagement.
The festival also featured panel discussions, policy debates, artistic performances, and networking sessions aimed at bridging the gap between leaders and citizens. Organizers reiterated that the People Dialogue Festival is not a one-day event but a growing movement designed to institutionalize public participation and civic engagement.
As the conversations concluded, the message from the youth was clear: Kenya’s future must be built through inclusive dialogue, accountability, and active participation from all generations.
