Director General of Vision 2030, Mr. Kenneth Mwige, has called for urgent action to improve hygiene and water quality in hospitals across Kenya. Speaking at the Kenya Annual Scientific and Health (KASH) Conference in Nairobi, Mwige emphasized the need to eliminate waste, ensure clean hospital environments, and make healthcare a top national priority.

“We need to get dirt out of our hospitals. There is a need for quality water, and we must resolve these problems. Hospital environments should be a priority,” said DG Mwige. He urged county governments to lead by example, highlighting that Kenya has sufficient resources to address waste management and health system inefficiencies.
“Nothing works when it comes to healthcare if we don’t cut out waste and focus on primary priorities,” he added.DG Mwige’s call aligns with the broader Vision 2030 objectives of improving health outcomes, strengthening infrastructure, and ensuring sustainable service delivery for all Kenyans.
