NAIROBI, Kenya — Principal Secretary for MSMEs Development Susan Mang’eni has flagged off Kenya’s exhibits ahead of the 26th East African Community (EAC) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Trade Fair, scheduled to take place from October 30 to November 8, 2026, in Kigali, Rwanda.
The flag-off marks a key step in Kenya’s preparations for the regional exhibition, which brings together businesses and entrepreneurs to showcase their products, explore market opportunities and strengthen cross-border trade.
The trade fair will be held at the Gikondo Expo Grounds in Kigali under the theme “Advancing Regional Value Chains in Leather and Horticulture.”
The event provides a platform for Kenyan MSMEs to present their products to a wider regional market, build business networks and explore opportunities for partnerships and commercial growth across East Africa.
The flag-off was held at the MSEA Kariobangi Centre of Excellence in Nairobi, with the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA) represented by its leadership, including CEO Henry Rithaa, alongside representatives from business associations and private-sector organisations.
The participation of Kenyan enterprises underscores the importance of supporting small businesses to access regional markets, improve competitiveness and contribute to economic growth through trade and value addition.
As the delegation heads to Rwanda, attention will be on how Kenyan entrepreneurs can use the exhibition to establish new business relationships, expand their customer base and position locally made products for greater regional visibility.
The 26th EAC MSMEs Trade Fair is part of the regional bloc’s ongoing efforts to promote enterprise development and deepen economic cooperation among partner states.
