The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has assured Kenyans of its commitment to promoting a peaceful and cohesive environment ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ event aimed at promoting peace ahead of the 2027 General Election, NCIC Commissioner Hon. Jackson Kedogo said the Commission will continue working with stakeholders to strengthen peaceful coexistence and prevent conflicts during the electoral period.

The event, sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), brought together stakeholders to discuss measures aimed at promoting peace, tolerance and responsible engagement ahead of the polls.

Commissioner Kedogo emphasized the importance of collaboration among government institutions, political actors, civil society organizations, communities and other stakeholders in ensuring that political competition does not undermine national cohesion.

He urged Kenyans to embrace dialogue and peaceful participation, noting that the responsibility for maintaining peace ahead of the election extends beyond government institutions.

The NCIC has continued to engage various stakeholders on peacebuilding and conflict prevention as the country prepares for the 2027 General Election.

The Commission’s message comes as political activity gradually intensifies, with stakeholders increasingly calling for responsible political discourse, tolerance and peaceful democratic participation.

NCIC reaffirmed its commitment to working with partners and communities to help ensure that Kenya’s electoral process is conducted in an environment of peace, cohesion and respect for democratic values.
