NAIROBI, Kenya — Acting Kadhi Sukyan Omar Hassan has urged Kenyans to embrace unity, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect as the country prepares for the next General Election.
Hassan called on communities across the country to strengthen social cohesion and avoid divisions based on race, ethnicity, religion or political affiliation.
He encouraged Kenyans to promote peace within their communities, engage in constructive dialogue and respect one another despite political differences.
The Acting Kadhi further urged leaders and citizens to put the interests of the country and peaceful coexistence above political competition, noting that elections should not become a source of conflict or division.
As Kenya approaches the 2027 General Election, Hassan’s message comes amid growing political activity and increased public debate across the country.
“Unity and peaceful coexistence should remain the responsibility of every Kenyan as we approach the General Election,” organized by Noor Al Umma, community organisation.
