Cherangany 1 Member of Parliament Hon. Patrick Simiyu Barasa has today graced the official unveiling of Bwake Boys High School in Makutano Ward following its elevation to national school status.

The ceremony brought together education stakeholders, parents, students and community leaders to celebrate the institution’s new status and its growing role in Kenya’s education landscape.

In his address, Hon. Barasa described the elevation as recognition of the school’s consistent academic performance, discipline and strong community support.

He noted that attaining national school status will open up broader opportunities for learners from different parts of the country while positioning Bwake Boys as a potential centre of excellence in both academics and sports.

The MP pledged his continued support towards the school’s development, particularly in infrastructure improvement, resource mobilisation and mentorship programmes, to help the institution successfully transition into its new status.

“Bwake Boys has earned this opportunity through hard work, discipline and commitment. We must now work together to ensure the school has the infrastructure and resources required to thrive as a national institution,” Barasa said.

The event was also attended by Trans Nzoia County Executive Committee Member for Education Madam Janerose Mutama, County Director of Education Dr. Pamela Akello, the Sub-County Director of Education, among other education stakeholders.

The elevation marks a significant milestone for Bwake Boys High School and is expected to enhance its capacity to attract learners nationally while providing an expanded platform for academic and sporting development.
