Incoming Kakamega Governor Cleophas Malala and DCP has created a new platform to interact with residents and other constituents as political activities ahead of the 2027 General Election continue to take shape.

Malala, who is also the Deputy Party Leader of the Democratic Congress Party (DCP), says the platform will provide an opportunity for residents to share their views, raise issues affecting their communities and engage directly on matters concerning the future of Kakamega County.

The initiative is expected to bring together residents, professionals, youth, women, businesspeople and other stakeholders through regular engagements and discussions.

The platform comes as political leaders across the country increasingly intensify grassroots mobilisation and public engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.

Through the initiative, Malala is expected to use the engagements to listen to residents’ concerns and discuss issues relating to development, governance, employment, business opportunities and service delivery in Kakamega.

The engagements also provide residents with an opportunity to question leaders directly and articulate the priorities they would like addressed at county and national levels.

Malala has previously served as Kakamega County Governor and has remained active in national and county-level political affairs.

As the 2027 political calendar approaches, such grassroots platforms are likely to become increasingly important spaces for political actors and citizens to interact, debate issues and shape public discourse.
