The Green Legacy Cup 2026 is a proposed national charity football match between Gor Mahia FC and the Migori Youth League Select XI, in partnership with Zamzam Foundation Kenya.
The initiative is aimed at mobilizing resources to promote food security, environmental conservation, and community resilience across Kenya.
The initiative seeks to harness the unifying power of football by bringing together fans, corporate partners, county governments, development agencies, diaspora communities, and other well-wishers in support of sustainable community projects.
Funds raised will go towards establishing edible forests, community farms, and climate-smart agricultural initiatives in vulnerable regions.
At a time when Kenya continues to grapple with food insecurity driven by climate change, prolonged droughts, floods, rising food prices, and pressure on agricultural systems, the Green Legacy Cup offers an innovative solution.
