“Gachagua to DCI: ‘Name the Officers or We Will Expose Them After Your Press Briefing

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) of allegedly attempting to cover up those responsible for the death of Dr. Victoria Nthunya Mutiso.
In a strongly worded statement, Gachagua claimed he has the names of three police officers whom he alleges are being protected. He further alleged that innocent boda boda riders could be blamed instead of those truly responsible.
According to Gachagua, the DCI should publicly identify the officers he referenced rather than conceal their identities. He also claimed that officers who have since been transferred from Nairobi possess information about the case and should be allowed to speak openly.
Gachagua warned that if the DCI’s press conference fails to fully disclose the facts surrounding the investigation, he will release the information he says he possesses.
The DCI had not publicly responded to Gachagua’s allegations at the time of publication. The claims remain allegations, and no evidence has been publicly presented to substantiate them. Investigations into the death of Dr. Victoria Nthunya Mutiso are ongoing.
