Babu Owino Defends Stano in Limuru Court, Condemns Alleged Fabricated Charges
Embakasi East Member of Parliament and Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Hon. Babu Owino today appeared before the Limuru Law Courts to represent Stano, who was arrested on what he described as trumped-up charges.
According to Hon. Owino, rogue officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) allegedly planted bullets, teargas canisters, and bhang on Stano before effecting the arrest. He maintained that the charges were fabricated and intended to unjustly incriminate his client.
Hon. Owino said the defence team was fully prepared to challenge the allegations in court. However, the matter could not proceed as planned after the DCI officers who were expected to testify failed to appear before the court.
“We were ready to challenge them in court, but the DCI officers failed to appear. They should come to court and face us. We are ready for them,” Hon. Owino said.
He was accompanied by a team of advocates comprising Abner Mango, Pius Oyoo, Noordean Khagai, and Wakili Oruku, who reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing justice through the legal process.
The defence team called for due process, accountability, and adherence to the rule of law, insisting that all parties involved should appear before the court to allow the matter to be heard and determined fairly.
