By News Desk Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has commended Kenyans for heeding the Government's call to maintain peace and continue with their daily activities during today's demonstrations.
The CS noted with satisfaction that no widespread cases of looting, vandalism, skirmishes, or injuries were reported across the country in connection with the demonstrations.
According to Murkomen, the peaceful conduct witnessed today is not only commendable but also reflects the growing maturity of Kenya’s politics, governance, and democratic culture.
He stated that the events of the day have demonstrated that constitutional rights can be exercised responsibly while safeguarding public order and national security.
“Today is proof that when demonstrations are conducted in accordance with the provisions of our Constitution, peace and security are guaranteed,” said Murkomen.
The Interior CS thanked citizens, security agencies, community leaders, and all stakeholders for their cooperation in ensuring a calm and orderly environment throughout the country.
He reiterated the Government’s commitment to protecting the constitutional right to peaceful assembly while maintaining law and order for the benefit of all Kenyans.
