A new chapter is unfolding for the Kenya Airports Authority Kenya Airports Authority as the State Corporation accelerates its transition under the Government-Owned Enterprises (GOE) Act, 2025.

The Authority convened a high-level strategic management session at the Kenya School of Government, bringing together middle and senior-level managers from across its network to align leadership on the implementation of the new governance framework.

The engagement focused on deepening understanding of the GOE Act, 2025 and its implications for governance, accountability, operational efficiency, and overall institutional performance within the aviation sector.

Participants also undertook a comprehensive review of KAA’s strategic direction, with discussions centered on strengthening the Authority’s capacity to deliver safe, secure, efficient, and customer-centric airport services, while positioning Kenya as a competitive aviation hub in the region.

Addressing the forum, the Managing Director, Mr. Moses Wekesa, emphasized that the ongoing reforms present a critical opportunity to enhance institutional effectiveness and drive sustainable growth in a rapidly evolving operating environment.

He noted that successful implementation of the Act will require strong leadership, inter-departmental collaboration, and a unified commitment to excellence across all levels of the organization.

The session also provided the newly appointed Managing Director with a platform to engage directly with senior and middle-level managers on issues affecting staff and the broader Authority. The interactive forum enabled open discussions on workplace concerns, institutional priorities, and strategies for improving staff engagement and performance.

Mr. Wekesa called on managers to take the lead in championing KAA’s strategic objectives and fostering a high-performance culture anchored on accountability, professionalism, teamwork, integrity, and innovation as the Authority embarks on this new governance era.
