Speaking after receiving an update report on the implementation of the NYOTA Project from relevant Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Heads of Government Agencies, the Deputy President said the programme continues to play a vital role in supporting youth entrepreneurship, skills development, and job creation.

Kindiki noted that beneficiaries of the programme will be encouraged to transition to other Government-backed financing initiatives, including the Hustler Fund, Uwezo Fund, and Youth Enterprise Development Fund, to access additional capital and expand their businesses.

The second phase of NYOTA will provide more young people with opportunities to build successful enterprises and improve their economic prospects. Beneficiaries will also be linked to other Government financing programmes to help them scale up and sustain their ventures,” Kindiki said.

The Deputy President reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to empowering the youth through targeted interventions that promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and access to affordable financing.

The NYOTA programme is part of the Kenya Kwanza administration’s broader strategy to tackle youth unemployment, stimulate economic growth, and ensure young people actively participate in the country’s development agenda. The upcoming launch is expected to open doors for thousands of additional youth seeking financial and business support to transform their ideas into thriving enterprises.
