Parliament Applauds PS Salome Beacco and Prisons Commissioner General Patrick Aranduh for Addressing Audit Queries

The National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has commended Principal Secretary for Correctional Services, Dr. Salome Beacco, and Commissioner General of Prisons, Mr. Patrick Aranduh, for their exemplary leadership and commitment to accountability in the management of Kenya’s correctional services.

 

During a recent review of audit reports raised by the Auditor-General, the Committee expressed satisfaction with the progress made by the State Department for Correctional Services in addressing various audit concerns and strengthening financial management systems.

Members of the Committee praised Dr. Beacco for her dedication to reforms aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency, and prudent use of public resources within correctional institutions across the country. The Committee noted that the corrective measures undertaken by the department demonstrated a strong commitment to good governance and public accountability.

The Committee also recognized the contribution of Commissioner General Patrick Aranduh and the Kenya Prisons Service leadership for supporting reforms that have improved operational effectiveness and compliance with public financial management regulations.

Speaking during the session, Members of Parliament acknowledged the significant strides made in resolving outstanding audit issues and encouraged the department to maintain the momentum in implementing institutional reforms.

The commendation by the Public Accounts Committee reflects growing confidence in the management of the correctional services sector and highlights the importance of accountability in delivering quality public services to Kenyans.
