Muslims across Mombasa gathered at Ronald Ngala Grounds in Mvita to celebrate Eid ul-Adha in an atmosphere of devotion, unity and reflection, as leaders called for compassion, togetherness and renewed hope for the county and the nation.
The faithful joined in special Eid prayers to mark the sacred Islamic occasion, which commemorates sacrifice, obedience to Allah and generosity towards others. The event brought together worshippers from different backgrounds in a powerful display of harmony and solidarity.
Speaking during the celebrations, leaders emphasized that Eid ul-Adha serves as a reminder of the importance of unity, peace and caring for one another regardless of social, ethnic or political differences.
They noted that the values symbolized by Eid — sacrifice, compassion and obedience to God — continue to inspire efforts aimed at building a more inclusive, peaceful and prosperous Mombasa where every resident feels valued and respected.
“As families and communities gather to celebrate this holy occasion, may this blessed day bring peace to our homes, strength to our hearts and renewed hope for our county and nation,” the leaders said.
The celebrations were also marked by prayers for peace, stability and continued coexistence among Kenyans as Muslims across the country joined millions worldwide in observing Eid ul-Adha.
