Former President has launched a sharp criticism against President , urging the government to focus on solving the rising fuel crisis and economic hardships facing ordinary Kenyans instead of engaging in tribal politics.
Speaking during a public engagement, the Jubilee Party leader argued that the country’s biggest concern today is the high cost of living, fueled by increasing fuel prices, expensive food commodities, and unemployment among the youth.
Uhuru warned leaders against dragging the country into divisive ethnic conversations, saying Kenyans are more interested in practical solutions that can improve their daily lives.
“Leadership is about solving problems affecting wananchi. Right now Kenyans want affordable fuel, lower food prices, and jobs — not tribal politics,” he stated.
The remarks are expected to intensify political tensions between the Jubilee camp and the Kenya Kwanza administration, with allies of President Ruto likely to respond strongly to the former Head of State’s sentiments.
Political analysts say Uhuru’s comments signal a renewed attempt by the opposition-allied leaders to pile pressure on the government over the struggling economy and rising public frustration.
The Jubilee Party has recently intensified criticism of the government’s economic policies, accusing the administration of failing to prioritize the needs of ordinary citizens amid increasing taxation and inflation.
