Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i today led a high-level Jubilee Party delegates’ meeting in Kiambu Town, where party leaders, delegates and supporters issued a strong declaration of solidarity with millions of Kenyans protesting the recent fuel price hike and the escalating cost of living crisis.
The meeting, held in Kiambu County, focused on the growing economic pressure facing ordinary citizens, with leaders warning that the rising cost of fuel continues to trigger increased prices of food, transport and essential commodities across the country.
Addressing delegates, Dr. Matiang’i emphasized that leadership must prioritize the welfare of the common mwananchi instead of introducing policies that deepen economic hardship.
“At a time when citizens are crying out for relief, policies that further burden hardworking Kenyans must be reconsidered with urgency, wisdom and compassion,” the leaders stated during the meeting.
The Jubilee Party reaffirmed its commitment to rebuilding an economy that works for ordinary Kenyans by creating opportunities, improving livelihoods and restoring dignity to struggling families and businesses.
Party officials further called for national unity and people-centered leadership, insisting that the wellbeing of wananchi must remain the top priority of any government.
The Kiambu meeting comes amid growing nationwide frustration over the rising cost of fuel, high taxation and increasing economic pressure on households, issues that continue to spark demonstrations and political debate across the country.
The delegates concluded the meeting by pledging to strengthen grassroots mobilization under the #MbelePamoja movement as Jubilee positions itself in the evolving national political landscape.
