Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano on Saturday joined Kenya Wildlife Service Director General Erustus Kanga at Hell’s Gate National Park to witness the electrifying action of the world-famous Safari Rally Kenya, one of the most iconic motorsport events on the global calendar.
The rally, which has transformed Naivasha into a hub of excitement and international attention, continues to showcase Kenya as a premier tourism and sporting destination. Speaking during the event, CS Miano highlighted the rally’s immense contribution to the country’s tourism sector and the wider economy.
She noted that beyond the roaring engines and thrilling competition, the Safari Rally plays a strategic role in positioning Kenya on the global stage.
The event attracts thousands of local and international visitors, filling hotels, boosting transport services, and stimulating trade across surrounding towns and communities.
“The Safari Rally is more than a motorsport event; it is a global showcase of Kenya’s beauty, culture, and hospitality. It brings international visitors to our parks and towns, directly supporting jobs and local enterprises,” said CS Miano.
The presence of global media, rally teams, and international spectators has also reinforced Kenya’s reputation as a destination capable of hosting world-class events while promoting conservation and sustainable tourism.
Officials emphasized that events such as the Safari Rally are critical pillars in the government’s strategy to grow tourism numbers, attract investment, and strengthen long-term economic stability.
As crowds gathered in the scenic landscapes of Hell’s Gate and surrounding areas, the rally once again demonstrated how sport, tourism, and business can combine to drive national pride and economic opportunity. 🇰🇪
