Nyeri Water CECM Fredrick Wanjohi Kinyua Honored at Upper Tana Water Fund Celebration for Outstanding Service

Nyeri County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Water, Irrigation and Environment Fredrick Wanjohi Kinyua has been recognized for his outstanding contribution to water conservation and environmental sustainability during the Upper Tana Water Fund celebration held in Nairobi.
The recognition highlighted Kinyua’s commitment to strengthening water management systems, protecting critical water catchment areas, and promoting sustainable environmental practices that benefit communities within the Upper Tana region and beyond.
Speaking during the event, leaders and stakeholders praised Kinyua for his dedication to improving access to clean water, supporting irrigation initiatives, and championing environmental conservation programs that safeguard vital water sources.
The Upper Tana Water Fund, a multi-stakeholder initiative bringing together government agencies, private sector players, and community groups, works to protect the Upper Tana watershed which supplies most of the water used in Nairobi and surrounding counties.
Kinyua’s leadership in Nyeri County has been instrumental in advancing policies and programs that align with the fund’s mission of protecting water resources while improving livelihoods for communities living around key catchment areas.
Receiving the recognition, Kinyua reaffirmed his commitment to continue working with partners and stakeholders to strengthen water security, protect the environment, and ensure sustainable water supply for present and future generations.
