Hon. (Dr.) John Kanyuithia Mutunga, Member of Parliament for Tigania West and Chairperson of the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Agriculture and Livestock, has unveiled the Tigania West 3.0 Scorecard (2022–2025) — a comprehensive three-year performance review of the Constituency Transformation Strategy (2022–2027).

The report details measurable progress made under a bold and structured development blueprint aimed at transforming Tigania West into a united, hopeful, and wealthy community engaged in viable economic activities.

A Strategy Built on Four Pillars
The transformation agenda is anchored on four strategic thrusts:
WALE (Water, Agriculture, Land and Environment):

Hon. John Mutunga, Tigania West

Expanded access to clean water through boreholes and dams, increased tree cover, and adoption of climate-smart agriculture to boost food security and farmer incomes.
CETe (Career, Education and Training Environments):
Improved academic performance, modernized school infrastructure, expanded bursary access, and strengthened mentorship and career guidance programs.

TRED (Telecommunication, Roads, Electrification and Digitization):
Upgraded road networks, accelerated rural electrification, and enhanced digital and communication connectivity across sub-locations.
CREC (Collaboration, Restraint, Endowment and Cohesion):
Strengthened cooperatives, Saccos, youth and women empowerment groups, and enhanced social and cultural cohesion.

Education: A Strong Foundation for the Future

Hon. Mutunga meeting his constituentsThe 3.0 Report reveals that only 11% of schools face both land scarcity and limited stakeholder engagement — confirming that land availability is not a systemic barrier in the constituency.

Academization Scores indicate strong foundations in access to clean water, land availability for expansion, and improved physical infrastructure. The next phase will prioritize laboratories, sanitation facilities, co-curricular amenities, and learner-centered quality improvements.

People-Centered Leadership
Implementation has followed the Consultation–Coordination–Collaboration (3C) model, ensuring inclusive participation at every level. The continued use of the sub-location approach, supported by volunteer Sublocation Development Promoters (SDPs), has strengthened grassroots decision-making and accountability.

Despite delayed fund disbursements and global economic challenges, Tigania West has maintained structured planning, prudent resource management, and consistent progress — positioning the constituency as a benchmark for constituency-led transformation.
National Influence, Local Impact
At the national level, Hon. Mutunga has championed legislative reforms in agriculture, education, and governance, aligning Tigania West’s agenda with Kenya’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), Vision 2030, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Looking Ahead
As the Transformation Strategy enters its final phase (2025–2027), the focus will be on consolidating gains, scaling high-impact projects, and reinforcing accountability systems to ensure every resource yields maximum benefit.

“This report is more than a record of achievements — it is a reaffirmation of our shared vision and resilience. Together, we will continue building a Tigania West that thrives in unity, productivity, and prosperity,” said Hon. (Dr.) John Kanyuithia Mutunga.
