Isaac Mwaura has assured Kenyans that the government remains fully in control of all Kenyan embassies across nations affected by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

He confirmed that all diplomatic missions in affected regions are operational and actively monitoring the situation to ensure the safety and welfare of Kenyans abroad.
All Kenyans residing in areas experiencing conflict are advised to:
Avoid places where fighting is occurring.

Reduce unnecessary movement.
Remain vigilant and prioritize personal safety.
Use official embassy contact numbers shared across government platforms for assistance.

The government reiterated its unwavering commitment to protecting Kenyans working, studying, or conducting business in impacted regions, emphasizing that every necessary measure will be taken to safeguard citizens.

NADCO Report Implementation
National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) implementation remains firmly on track despite claims to the contrary.

The government outlined a three-pronged implementation strategy:
Templates developed for all 54 State Departments headed by Principal Secretaries.

Processing of 16 legislative proposals.

Addressing referendum-related matters either during the General Election or through alternative constitutional mechanisms.

A taskforce and a five-member committee are actively advancing the process, with a comprehensive public progress report expected soon. The government reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive, transparent, and time-bound implementation through administrative, legislative, and constitutional pathways.

IEBC 6 Million Voter Registration Target

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is targeting the registration of over 6 million new voters, with 70% expected to be young people.

The government pledged full resource support for this drive, emphasizing youth participation as critical to strengthening democracy.
Recent by-elections conducted by the IEBC were described as successful, and the government congratulated the ruling party for its victories.

Authorities also warned that premature national campaigns outside legally stipulated areas will attract firm and lawful action in accordance with the Elections Act.
The government reaffirmed that free, fair, and transparent elections remain the cornerstone of Kenya’s democracy.

HIV Prevention Breakthrough: Lenacapavir Rollout
Ministry of Health has launched an innovative injectable HIV prevention intervention known as Lenacapavir.
While often referred to in public discourse as a vaccine, Lenacapavir is an active injectable pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) administered twice annually. When properly administered, it reduces the risk of HIV acquisition by more than 99.9%.
Key details:
First phase rollout begins early March 2026.
21,000 starter doses received mid-February.
Initial rollout in 15 high-burden counties including Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Machakos, Kakamega, Busia, Siaya, Migori, Kisii, Kiambu, and others.
Provided free of charge at designated public health facilities and NASCOP-supported sites.
Approved by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board and endorsed by the World Health Organization.
The government emphasized that this breakthrough does not replace responsible behavior and protection against HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Kenya now ranks among the first African nations to deploy this advanced prevention tool as part of efforts to end new HIV infections and achieve universal health coverage.
JKIA Upgrade Under Sovereign Plan
Kenya Airports Authority has formally confirmed in court that reports of a new PPP deal involving the Adani Group regarding Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) have been terminated.
The government is now advancing a sovereign integrated JKIA master plan, which includes:
Construction of a new passenger terminal
Development of a second runway
Airfield expansion
Creation of an airport city
Construction is scheduled to begin this year under full government oversight. Officials state that this approach safeguards national interests, ensures value for money, accelerates project delivery, and positions JKIA as East Africa’s premier aviation hub.
